Deepening our faith

Through the grace of the Holy Spirit our (Bible study) class has grown to about 25. Your work in making Revelation comprehensible has resulted in deepening our faith and we appreciate it greatly.

An opportunity for meditation and growth

I have used Invitation to Discipleship series for spiritual learning and teaching for many years. The series is aptly named as there is a constant and unmistakeable call to be a disciple of Christ. As a catechist, I have never seen a more thoroughly thought out Catholic Bible study. The lectures in the leaders books are detailed, informative and, most importantly, Spirit filled. This is a study for those who truly want to learn about the scriptures. The daily questions in the student books provide an opportunity for meditation and growth. Sharing our answers in our study group reinforces our beliefs. It was this study that really cemented my relationship with Jesus and His Holy Catholic Church.

Your work has truly served in improving our spiritual lives

Dear Fr. O’Bryan: You have been in our thoughts and prayers this season. We have recently finished studying the book of Acts and have thoroughly enjoyed it. It has increased our understanding of the Church and appreciation of St. Paul. Your work has truly served in improving our spiritual lives. As the Filipinas say, ‘Maduday’ to you, which means, ‘long may you live’.

This study greatly affects our daily lives

Others from the Manila groups include, “We have been looking for a study like this for so many years. We consider ourselves blessed to have found this opportunity. This study greatly affects our daily lives. And I have gone back to believe again in the sun no matter how hard it rains. Thank you so much and may God bless you ten million times over.”

A deeper understanding and appreciation of the Word of God

Dear Fr. O’Bryan: You have helped me and so many others to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Word of God. I thank you for the numerous times you pointed out passages that serve as a basis for various Catholic beliefs and teachings, going so far as to bring forth the meaning of these passages from their original languages. I thank you for emphazing that scripture must be interpreted in the light of what the Spirit has revealed during the entire course of Christian tradition. All of this has helped strengthen my faith and brought me to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Catholic Church and her teachings.

I have learned more about Jesus than I ever did in Sunday School or church

I have learned more about Jesus than I ever did in Sunday School or church by just reading your marvelous Sound of the Lion” (St. Mark). It is now on its way to our daughter Amber in Plano, TX. I shall read it again when she returns it. A treasure.

Through the years we have witnessed the spiritual growth of each other

Dear Fr. O’Bryan, we have just completed I Thessalonians to complete 8 years of study based on your works. Through the years we have witnessed the spiritual growth of each other in many different ways. Some have taught, some use reflective journal writing, some become readers or become more active in Church and community affairs. We send our love and best wishes and the assurance you remain in our prayers.
God Bless You, Katherine M. Karl, St. Aloysius Bible Study Group, New Canaan, CT

Thank you for all the love and hard work

Dear Fr. O’Bryan, I am so grateful to Jesus, first and foremost for bringing me to Himself in the Holy Catholic Faith, and for His teaching me (a convert) through you. Thank you for all the love and hard work you poured out (in John, Mark, Luke and Acts).

The bible study is like a lifeline for me

The bible study is like a lifeline for me. I feel as if the prayers of the Bible study fellowship sustain my faith in the great healing power of God. I have a terminal illness but, with the grace of God and the comfort of the Holy Spirit and the prayers off all the people, my life is peaceful and happy.

To walk a bit closer and make a more serious commitment to a life in Jesus Christ

Dear Fr. O’Bryan: Thank you for fostering this new outpouring (of the Divine Paraclete) in our community through your Catholic Bible Study series, ‘Invitation to Christian Discipleship’. Each lesson contains an invitation to walk a bit closer and make a more serious commitment to a life in Jesus Christ. We are encouraged to be not just hearers of the Word but doers. The deep spiritual enrichment your study provides is most definitely a work of the Holy Spirit.
Most Gratefully yours in Christ, Mary C. Zorb, San Clemente, CA
